Community Guidelines

At Catchups, we want to create an environment where people can share messages, images and videos safely, have a laugh and communicate with friends and family around the globe from the palm of your hand. Creating the safest environment possible is our top priority and we are committed to enforcing our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By signing up to Catchups, you also commit to these guidelines and we are here to help further that commitment.

We have created our Community Guidelines, which will help protect our awesome users and provide an overview of the boundaries set by Catchups.

Overstepping these boundaries may result in deleted accounts, disabled accounts, notifying law enforcement and/or relative authorities.

Harassment & Bullying

·      We take harassment and bullying extremely seriously.

·      We have a zero tolerance policy on harassment and bullying.

·      Content produced that shows any form of harassment and bullying with be dealt with accordingly. This may include images/videos and messages relating to the matter.

·      Do not take images/videos of others without their consent.

·      Do not take images/videos of individuals in private places. This includes bathrooms, locker rooms, classrooms or medical facilities.

·      Do not force individuals to be in your images/videos.

·      Do not force individuals to take images/videos of yourself.

Animal Abuse

·      We have a zero-tolerance policy on animal abuse.

·      Strictly do NOT take images and/or videos portraying an act of animal abuse.

·      Any account linked to producing/sending content regarding animal abuse will be immediately disabled and reported to the authorities.

Sexually Explicit Content

·      We prohibit the distribution of sexually explicit content. This includes images, videos and digitally created content that shows any form of pornography.

·      Images and videos of breastfeeding and other depictions of nudity in non-sexual context are allowed. This may also include photos of paintings and sculptures.

·      For safety reasons, we encourage you not to share any images/videos of children that are nude or partially nude even if they are sent with good intention. This type of content can be used and interpreted in unanticipated ways.

·      Do NOT send images/videos of sexual content involving anyone under the age of 18, including yourself.

·      Do NOT ask and/or force a minor to send sexually explicit content.

·      Do NOT threaten to post intimate image and/or videos of others.

·      Any account that has been reported for any of the above content will be immediately disabled and/or deleted.

·      We will also report child and sexual exploitation to authorities.

Terrorism Content

·      We do not allow any organisations or individuals that advocate violent missions or engage in an act of violence.

·      Accounts relating to terrorist activity, organised violence, criminal activity and organised hate will be removed.

·      Content produced in the form of messages, images or videos that express support for any terrorist activity will be reported to the authorities.

Threats, Violence & Harm

·      Do NOT send messages to individuals threatening to cause harm to them, their property or their family and/or friends.

·      Do NOT promote self-harm, self-injury or any other medical related issues.

·      Do NOT threaten any individual with an act of violence.

·      Do NOT threaten any individual with any form of violence or harm who has declined or blocked your message request.

·      Do NOT encourage self-harm, self-injury or any other medical related issues.

Impersonation & Spam

·      Do NOT pretend to be someone you are not. This includes impersonating celebrities, friends, brands or other organisations.

·      Do NOT attempt to deceive people about who you are.

·      Do NOT impersonate a Catchups employee.

·      Do NOT impersonate a Government Official.

·      Do NOT post spam of any content including advertising, self-promotion and/or deceptive practices.

Hate Speech

·      Accounts that produce content regarding hate speech will be immediately removed.

·      Do NOT send content that defames, degrades or shames private individuals.

·      Do NOT send content that promotes discrimination .

·      Do NOT send content that encourages violence and harassment based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, disease or veteran status.

·      Certain forms of hate speech may be allowed when it is used to create awareness with good intention. 

Illegal Activities

·      The offering of sexual services is strictly prohibited.

·      Buying or selling firearms is strictly prohibited.

·      Buying or selling illegal and/or prescription drugs (even if it’s legal in your region) is strictly prohibited.

·      Promotion of gambling is strictly prohibited.

·      Any accounts producing the above content will be reported to the authorities.

Criminal Organisations

·      Criminal organisations with the intent of homicide, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, identity theft, money laundering, extortion, assault, kidnapping and sexual exploitation are strictly prohibited.

·      Any reports made to the above offenses will be reported to the authorities.
