Sending Messages

Sending messages are super easy!

To send a message to a new friend…

1.    Tap on the search icon on the bottom left hand side of your home screen. This will bring up a new search page where you will find your friend.

2.    Tap on the search bar which is located towards the top of screen.

3.    Start typing the username of the person you would like to chat to. This will start to filter out all names based on your search. You will start seeing users after you have typed 3 character.

4.    Select the user you would like to chat with by simply tapping on their name.

5.    Once you’ve tapped on their name, a new screen will pop up and you can start typing your message into the text field located at the bottom of your screen.

6.    Once you have entered your message, hit the send button  and your chat will be sent!

Note: For safety reasons, the first message you send to any user will automatically be sent into their Catchup Requests. It is up to the receiving user to choose whether they would like to accept, decline or block your message.

How To: Troubleshooting Send Messages

There may be a few reasons as to why your messages are not being sent. Be sure to check the following:

1.    Make sure you have a good internet connection if you are connected to Wi-Fi. If you are connected, try moving to an area with stronger connection and if possible, try restarting the Wi-Fi device.

2.    Make sure you have reception if you are using your data on your cellular device. If you do have reception, try moving to a place with a stronger connection.

3.    Restart your phone.

4.    Log out and log back in.

5.    Close the app and try opening it again.

6.    Make sure you have the latest version of Catchups installed on your phone.
